According to legend, the Abkhaz shepherd was given salt for sheep, but pepper was mixed with it so that the shepherd did not steal it. Nevertheless, resourceful shepherds used this mixture for food. So the pepper ajika was invented. The classic ajiki pepper recipe consists of red pepper, salt, garlic and spicy herbs. Ajika from pepper can be green if unripe pepper was used. The pepper ajika is a lovely hot sauce to meat with a specific flavour.
