Herring stewed in sour cream

Cut the salad into fillet. Put a layer of fish in the pan, on top - bulb onions, cut into rings, and again - layers of herring and chopped bulb onions. Pour in the sour cream, add salt, tomato juice or water and simmer over a low heat until tender. Side with boiled potatoes, pour over the resulting sauce with onions and sprinkle with finely chopped herbs.
