Turnip or rutabaga stuffed with green peas

4 servings

Clean 12 pieces of medium-sized turnip (or swede). Make a cross-shaped incision at the top of each. Place them on a baking sheet, pour boiling water, put in the oven. When the turnip (or swede) softens, remove it from the tray, scratch the middle so that both the bottom and the walls of the turnip can hold the mince. Cook 0. 5 cups dried green sugar peas (or a fresh glass), adding a teaspoon of sugar and a little salt, strain. Brown a tablespoon of oil with a teaspoon of flour, pour 0. 5 cups of cream, boil, mix with peas. Fill turnips (or swedes) with minced meat, place them on a deep dish greased with oil and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with Swiss cheese, drizzle with butter, let gradually brown in the oven. Serve the oil.
