Marzipan is made from almond nuts, as well as peanuts (peeled from the shell) or cashew nuts. However, the quality of peanut and cashew marzipan is lower. Nuts must be dried before consumption, making sure that their color does not change, otherwise marzipan will not turn out to be white. The finished marzipan has the appearance of a white viscous mass, resembling plasticine. There is also a recipe for molasses-free marzipan, but then it loses plasticity faster.
