Bananas baked with almonds
1 serving
Scald the almonds with boiling water, pour out on a baking sheet and dry in a heated oven. Then cool the nuts slightly and cut into thin plates. Pour lemon and strained orange juice into a bowl, add nutmeg and cardamom and mix well. Peel the bananas, cut along in half and place the halves cut down on a butter-greased baking sheet. After that, pour the bananas with the juice mixture, drizzle with the remaining melted oil and sprinkle evenly with sugar. Put the baking sheet in a heated oven or grill and bake for three to four minutes until the fruit surface is covered in bubbles and brownish. Then remove the tray from the oven, garnish the bananas with almond plates, put back in the oven and keep baking until the almonds have a golden brown tint. Serve the bananas hot by placing on a dish.
