Sour cabbage soup with smoked herring

Finely chop sauerkraut, fold into dishes and simmer with mash tomato, fat, broth or water over low heat, stirring occasionally. Finely chop the onions, and cut the carrots into cubes and fry. Cut the parsley root into cubes as well. Put the stewed cabbage, toasted onions, carrots, parsley, chopped into straws of smoked herring fillet in boiling water and cook until tender. 10 minutes before the end of cooking cabbage soup, season with toasted flour. Before serving, put sour cream, sprinkle with parsley greens or dill.
