Before being used for food, the tips of the garlic arrows, where the small bulbs containing the seeds are located, are removed. The fact is that the shell of the bulbs is quite rigid and therefore is not suitable for food.

To freeze the garlic arrows, the greens are washed and cut into small pieces, after which they are blanched, dried and placed in a freezing bag. In this form, the arrows of garlic can be stored for up to six months, however, over time their characteristic island taste is partially lost.

The calorie content of garlic arrows is only 24 kcal per 100 grams of greens, so adding this product to dishes significantly enriches them with useful substances and does not add nutritional value. Garlic arrows are remarkably combined with many products, in particular zucchini, beetroot, spinach, meat, eggs, mayonnaise, butter, cheeses, lemon juice, mustard and soy sauce.

With garlic arrows, you can cook salads, vegetable honeycomb and sauces. They are also tasty as a separate dish, for example, pickled. Many people like to eat them raw, dipping them in salt. In addition, a sandwich paste made by their garlic shooters has a savory taste.

Some hostesses make all kinds of sauces from garlic arrows. To do this, spicy greens are crushed in a blender with cheese, vegetable oil, lemon juice, pepper and salt. This sauce is perfect for boiled or baked potatoes, vegetable and meat dishes. In addition, the simplest way to prepare garlic arrows is considered their grilling or frying.
