Oacliffe lettuce

Oacliffe lettuce...

Oakleaf lettuce got its quirky and sonorous name from the resemblance of salad and oak leaves. The name of the oacliffe salad consists of two English words - oak, which in translation sounds like oak and leaf, which means leaf. The appearance of the oaclif salad is a loose head with small leaves that can differ in color depending on the variety of product. However, the trait that remains unchanged for all types of oacliffe lettuce - salad leaves are cut in the likeness of oak leaves and have rounded tips.

Oaclif lettuce refers to fairly tender varieties of salads that should be consumed immediately after purchase. The fact here is that the oacliffe cannot withstand even a night in the refrigerator. Lettuce leaves are adversely affected by time and temperature, the product loses its distinctive consumer and taste characteristics. The oacliffe lying down quickly wilts, and the salad leaves begin to turn black. Oakleaf has a distinctive salad taste, in which slightly tart and savoury nutty notes are present.

Currently, breeders have bred more than a dozen subspecies of oacliffe lettuce. Among the most famous and common types of oaclif lettuce are the following names: Fun, Credo, Amorix, Dubrava and Maseratti. Any variety of oacliffe salad will be distinguished by its exquisite rich taste, which should not be interrupted with heavy dressings or sauces. Best of all, oacliffe salad is combined with other varieties of green salads, as well as meat, fish and vegetable dishes.

To prepare a salad mix with the participation of oacliff, you just need to tear the leaves with your hands and mix the product with other types of green salad, pepper, salt, slightly drizzle with vinegar, and at the final stage season the dish with olive oil. It is believed that the perfect flavor combination can be achieved by making an oacliff salad with salmon, champignons or avocado.

Oakleaf is often used as an ingredient in hot meat or fish salads. The salad is great as a light side dish or snack. Often, culinary masters combine the distinctive nutty taste of oaclif salad with croutons, as well as cool ones. Finely chopped garlic or almonds perfectly emphasize the taste of oakliff. Because of its distinctive appearance, the oaclif salad, like most other varieties of green salads, is great for decorating the final dish.

In addition to excellent taste, oacliffe lettuce can be confidently classified as a dietary product. The calorie content of oacliffe lettuce is at a low level, and the chemical composition of the product contains a huge amount of vitamins of the V1 group, V2, C, E, K and PP. Also in the composition of oacliffe lettuce, such useful compounds as folic acid and mineral salts of natural origin can be found.
