If you add a Bulgarian stick and lactic acid streptococci to melted milk, in about five hours you can get a delicious drink of Ukrainian cuisine - mummer. It is distinguished by its traditional fermented milk taste with an unsurpassed taste of melted milk and a creamy or yellowish-brownish tint. It is essentially one of the varieties of yogurt, only without any flavors.

Quite often, mummer acts as the basis for the preparation of a drink called Lassi and is an analogue of the Turkic katyk and varenets. Currently, you can purchase this fermented milk aromatic drink of various fatness - from a dietary product (1%) to a more nutritious one - mummer 6% fat. However, regardless of the calorie content of the mummer, this product has truly unique qualities and is unusually useful for humans.

In cooking, mummer is used not only as a delicious drink, but also as an important component for preparing a variety of dishes. Pies, pancakes or mummer-based pancakes are very tasty. This product fits perfectly with most types of berries and fruits, but unlike kefir, you do not need to add sugar or honey to it at all.
