The sophisticated French public liked a new type of cream ice cream, which was called popsicle. In the USSR, popsicle ice cream appeared in 1937 on the personal initiative of the People's Commissar of Food A. I. Mikoyan. Soviet ice cream popsicle was distinguished by its cylindrical shape. Initially, popsicle ice cream was made by hand, and in 1947 the first specially designed popsicle ice cream generator appeared at the Moscow Cold Processing Plant.
