Milk

Milk...

Legends are made about the benefits and value of milk, because it is not for nothing that this product is found in proverbs and sayings around the world. First of all, milk is called a white nutrient liquid, which is produced by the mammary glands of females of all mammals. The natural purpose of milk is to feed young that cannot yet digest other foods. In general, it is safe to say that the beneficial properties of milk are simply invaluable.

From ancient times to the present, milk has been widely used by mankind. It is part of many products, and its production has become huge and has become a major industry.

For culinary purposes, milk is used to prepare a variety of dishes, as it is perfectly combined with berries, sweet fruits and nuts. A very useful combination for the gastrointestinal tract will be milk puddings, mousses, as well as fruits and berries with whipped cream, which, by the way, are obtained from milk. However, it is recommended to enjoy them not after a heavy meal, but as a snack. Traditional and justified from the point of view of dietetics is the combination of this drink with boiled potatoes and a variety of cereals, since the calorie content of milk is low and is approximately 60 kcal.

Cream and milk sauces for fish and meat are undoubtedly very tasty, but ready-made dishes are quite satisfying, so if used excessively, they can harm the figure. There is another reason why meat and fish dishes should not be washed down with milk: the calcium contained in whole milk significantly reduces the absorption of the iron we need.

Nutritionists and the combination of milk with fresh vegetables, cucumbers, plums, salted, smoked fish and sausages are called undesirable, since in this case fermentation processes begin in the intestines, which causes abdominal pain and attacks of flatulence.

Composition of milk

Such a simple and familiar product for us as milk, nevertheless, has a rather complex composition. A distinctive feature of many components of this wonderful liquid is the fact that they will not be found in any other food product, which indicates their uniqueness.

The composition of milk is not constant and directly depends on numerous factors, such as the breed of the cow and the general state of its health, the level and completeness of its feeding, as well as the lactation period. But on average, the composition of milk can be characterized by the following data: water, dairy fats, proteins, milk sugar and minerals.

cow's milk;

mare milk;

goat's milk;

sheep's milk.

In addition, this nutritious drink is also obtained from animals such as buffalo, camels, deer, donkeys, female mule, zebu, yaka.

Depending on the methods of heat treatment, milk types can be classified into 6 main categories: paired, whole, boiled, pasteurized, ultra-pasteurized (or sterilized) and reconstituted milk. Pasteurized milk and sterilized milk are among the most common types of this product, which can be purchased from any store. By the way, there is also melted milk, which is distinguished by its unsurpassed taste and aroma and is highly appreciated by lovers of this drink.

The benefits of milk

Everyone knows that the benefits of milk lie in its composition. So, thanks to the large amount of phosphorus, calcium and other extremely useful substances, regular use of this product contributes to the normalization of the human nervous system. In addition, B vitamins, which are also rich in milk, have a positive effect on all human organs, while updating epidermal cells and helping to improve the structure of the hair cover.

Traditional medicine also claims the benefit of milk as a wonderful natural medicine that naturally relieves headaches and relieves migraines.

Harm of milk

Addressing the issue of possible harm to milk, it should be noted that this product is contraindicated for people with individual intolerance. But this applies exclusively to cow's milk, due to the casein included in it, which as a result has increased allergenicity.
