Whipped cream

Whipped cream...

Real masters of culinary art have in their luggage more than a dozen professional secrets that help the cook create real masterpieces. Whipped cream just refers to such secret ingredients. Whipped cream was invented in the 17th century by the great Francois Watel. Born in Paris, Cook made a quick career through his skill and hard work.

The life story of this great man ended sadly. King Louis XIV of France arrived at the castle of his relative Prince Louis II de Bourbon-Condé. The leading chef Francois Watel was able to surpass himself and arrange a chic reception in honor of a noble guest. It is believed that it was during the preparation for this reception that Misye Watel came up with whipped cream to decorate confectionery and serve as a dessert with fruits.

Throughout all three days of feasts, the court chef coped with difficulties, because he knew that the fate of his owner depended on this reception. The interesting thing is that the guests were really amazed at the exquisite and skillfully prepared treats and dishes. King Louis XIV himself wished to invite the chef to work at the royal palace. The sweet and tender treat of whipped cream, unprecedented to the village, was also to everyone's taste. Unfortunately, on the last day of the feasts, Vatel was informed that the convoy with fresh fish would be delayed and would not have time to arrive on time.

Francois could not bear such news and committed suicide so as not to disgrace himself and his prince. The irony is that the convoy still managed to arrive at the castle, but the great master was no longer alive by that time. François Watel died, but his recipes and inventions, including whipped cream, live on to this day. Nowadays, whipped cream has become a familiar food product that can be easily purchased in almost any grocery store.

As a rule, ready-made whipped cream is packed into cylinders, thanks to which it is possible to maintain the original consistency of the product. In the last century, a mainly independent dessert called Chantius was made from whipped cream. In the modern culinary tradition, whipped cream is more often used in confectionery. In addition, whipped cream is a wonderful decoration that is used for baking, desserts, ice cream or coffee drinks.

Whipped cream composition

The calorie content of whipped cream is at a fairly high level and averages 257 Kcal per 100 grams of product. However, the calorie content of whipped cream can change significantly. For example, homemade whipped cream from high fat dairy products can significantly increase the energy value of the final food product.

As a rule, whipped cream includes only two components - cream and sugar. Currently, the composition of whipped cream, sold ready-made in stores, in addition to the main ingredients contains flavors, dyes and preservatives.
