Sauce under the name chutney, unusual for a Russian person, is a seasoning traditional for national Indian cuisine, which is specially created in order to shade the taste of the main dish. For example, spicy chutneys perfectly complement dishes with a non-spicy taste, additionally decorating the table with their bright saturated color.

Despite the fact that chutney sauce first appeared in India, today its popularity is constantly growing, and in many countries of the world. So, the spicy seasoning, which is the chutney sauce, often turns out to be an unusual additive to cold fish, meat and poultry. In addition, this sauce can serve as a great addition to the main sauces, as well as grilled meat, sandwiches, cheeses or pork pies.

Initially, chutney sauce was made on the basis of approximately Indian products - for example, coconut or mango, but then they began to make it on the basis of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. To date, a huge variety of all kinds of recipes for preparing chutney sauce are known, which differ in taste from each other, and also depend on the ingredients used.

A distinctive feature of the chutney sauce can be safely called the fact that this exquisite seasoning perfectly combines sweet, sour, salty and other tastes, and at the same time. Connoisseurs argue that once the taste of chutney sauce is almost impossible to understand, but I definitely want to return to it again.

Without pleading with the obvious merits of numerous famous and popular sauces, I would like to note that chutney is a truly universal product. Many vegetable crops are suitable for its manufacture: tomatoes, avocados, onions, rhubarb, peppers, carrots, eggplants, cucumbers, cabbage, celery, pumpkin, beans, horseradish, melon and others.

Apples, bananas, pears, mangoes, pineapples, lemons, peaches, plums, apricots, cherries, kiwi, quince, figs or tangerines can be used from the fruit. In addition, seasonings are often added to the chutney composition, including fruits and ginger root, hot and cayenne peppers, sweet green peppers, chili peppers, cloves, black allspice, bay leaves, nutmeg, cinnamon, garlic, onions and the like. Salt, sugar, acetic acid or table vinegar, sometimes honey and sugar sugar, as well as curry can be found as additional spices in the chutney sauce.

By the way, chutney sauce is considered a seasoning that is prepared both for one-time use and for long-term storage. So, having prepared a chutney sauce for future use, you can store it in the refrigerator in an airtight glass jar.
