Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise...

It is difficult to meet a person who would not know what mayonnaise is. While most people feel they are very familiar with the product, few have actually seen and tasted this famous sauce.

Among Russian consumers, mayonnaise can be safely called one of the most popular products that are in constant demand. But the product that is sold in our stores has nothing to do with real mayonnaise, the homeland of which is called France.

It's no secret that we prefer to consume most of our favorite dishes with mayonnaise. The fatter, the tastier - so many people think, don't they? After all, it is fats that are considered carriers of true taste. Interestingly, in European countries, 80% is called the fat content of classic mayonnaise, while about 60% is needed for salad. All that is below is actually no longer mayonnaise, but just refueling.

Depending on the calorie content of mayonnaise, this product is divided into three main groups:

classic mayonnaise;

mayonnaise of average calorie content;

mayonnaise is light.

Composition of mayonnaise

Surely many would like to know what the composition of mayonnaise is in fact, due to the fact that currently the packages of the store product contain such a number of ingredients that they just run their eyes. As a rule, its main components include vegetable oil, egg yolk, vinegar or lemon juice, sugar, salt, and sometimes mustard.

Mayonnaise benefits

It should be borne in mind that a commercially manufactured product is just a taste additive to food, so the benefits of mayonnaise are very doubtful, regardless of grade or brand. Much depends on the integrity of the manufacturer and the naturalness of the products that are part of mayonnaise.

For example, eggs contain the albumin protein, which is very useful for the human body. In addition, chicken yolk can be called a natural source of choline, which belongs to the essential components of the B-vitamin complex.

The benefits of mayonnaise also lie in such a natural ingredient as vegetable oil, which in turn is divided into several types depending on the source material. Olive, sunflower, rapeseed or any other vegetable oil contains unsaturated fats and healthy cholesterol. They are not only able to protect the body from the harmful effects of the environment, but also to normalize metabolism.

Mayonnaise harms

In general, the useful properties of mayonnaise can be argued exclusively in the case of high quality of its components. That is why almost always prepared at home, the product is unlikely to have an adverse effect on the human body. The real harm of mayonnaise can manifest itself if the shelf life of this product is not observed and if it is consumed excessively.
