Chamomile oil

Chamomile oil...

Chamomile essential oil is the result of steam distillation of the inflorescences of this plant. At the same time, in order to get about one kilogram of oil, you need to use more than two hundred kilograms of vegetable raw materials. In addition, it is important to distinguish between the types of chamomile that are used to make essential oils.

For example, the most "young" chamomile oil is usually obtained from Moroccan chamomile, which grows in northwestern Africa, as the name shows. It is also cultivated in Israel and southern Spain. It is worth noting that such chamomile oil appeared on the world market relatively recently, and therefore is not particularly popular.

The most expensive raw material for obtaining oil is Roman chamomile, which in appearance resembles wild chrysanthemum and grows in temperate Europe - in Belgium, Hungary, France, Great Britain and Germany. By the way, several decades ago, England was the main manufacturer of this essential oil, which is why the name chamomile English was often found in trade.

And finally, the most common chamomile oil is made on the basis of chamomile medicinal (pharmacy), German (German) or blue, which is the same. This species of plants grows everywhere in Russia, western Asia, Europe, and is also cultivated in North America and Australia.

The distinctive property of chamomile oil is its blue color, but at the same time, depending on the storage time and temperature regime, the liquid can change it, acquiring shades of green to brown. In consistency, chamomile oil is dense with a tart herbal aroma with a hint of hay, tobacco and sweet spices.

Sufficient chamomile oil contains hamazulene and bisabolol, often used in the production of hypoallergenic and pediatric cosmetics, aftershave lotions, tanning products, as well as perfume compositions. These substances are distinguished by the presence of soothing, anti-inflammatory and mitigating actions. True, being rather expensive products, these compounds are often replaced by synthetic analogues in industry.

Bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, tonic, painkiller and wound healing properties of chamomile oil contribute to the destructive effect on a number of pathogenic bacteria. This makes it possible to effectively use this natural substance as an auxiliary agent in diseases such as pneumonia, sore throat, laryngitis, conjunctivitis and bronchitis. It is also used for other colds, due to the property of chamomile oil to reduce the body temperature of a person in febrile conditions.

This essential oil helps to improve the functioning of the immune system, stimulate appetite, have a positive effect on the function of the gastrointestinal tract, in particular in duodenal and gastric ulcers.
