Carrot oil

Carrot oil...

People have been cultivating carrots for about forty centuries, and throughout this time it has been used not only for food purposes, but also as an effective natural remedy for maintaining youth, beauty and health. So, for example, from the seeds of these bright and juicy root crops, essential oil is obtained, the healing properties of which have been known since ancient times. In Rome, Greece, the Middle East, and later in European countries, alchemists and healers used few carrots to treat skin diseases and stomach disorders.

Today, carrots, on the basis of which the bulk of all essential oil entering the world market is produced, are grown in France and Poland, and this valuable product is obtained quite a lot. Carrot oil is produced from mature seeds of the plant using steam distillation, but they are previously warmed up on special machines.

The composition of carrot oil is quite problematic to describe unequivocally, since the presence and amount of certain substances directly depend on the place of cultivation of the plant, as well as on its variety. In addition, the distinctive properties of carrot oil are also due to the taste, shape and even color of this plant - for example, white carrots are found, and sometimes a bright purple color.

However, as a rule, natural acetic acid, carotene alcohol, terpenes limonene, pinene and bisabolene, as well as the aromatic substance azarone, along with many other components, are always present in the composition of carrot oil, but in much smaller quantities. Natural carrot oil has a yellow or orange-amber color, a pleasant aroma and a savory taste.

Interestingly, wild carrots grow in the Caucasus, while in Moldova they are culturally grown, while from their seeds they equally receive essential oil, which contains geranylacetate. This substance, which is characterized by the aroma of geranium or rose, is often used in the production of perfumes and cosmetics. In addition, the use of carrot oil, which is added to some sauces and seasonings, is also inherent in the food industry.

Very often carrot essential oil is used in medicine, because it has a lot of therapeutic actions. For example, many people know the property of carrot oil, which is the ability to improve mood and arouse self-confidence, relieve the effects of stress, strengthen the nervous system, and help restore strength.

Among other therapeutic properties of carrot oil are the following: wind-driven, cleansing, diuretic, tonic, general strengthening and cytophylactic (contributes to stimulating cell growth and renewal). It is due to this that this natural product is often used for the therapy of many diseases.
