Chicken cubes

Chicken cubes...

Surely today, many culinary professionals do not do without the use of bouillon cubes, which are outwardly small rectangular parallelepiped made on the basis of concentrated meat, mushroom or vegetable broth, which goes through the stages of dehydration and pressing.

The following varieties of stock cubes are mainly distinguished: chicken, beef, fish, mushroom, lamb and duck. All of them are added to dishes as they are cooked, although some prefer to sprinkle with crushed seasoning and ready-made meals.

The history of bouillon cubes takes us back to the distant 1882, when Swiss entrepreneur Julius Maggi first started selling this flavour. These cubes were designed and produced specifically for the poor of the urban population, who could hardly afford fresh meat. And such a product in diluted form was an inexpensive way to prepare a rather nutritious soup.

Meanwhile, modern stock cubes are in no less demand. Chicken cubes are especially popular, which have a characteristic aroma and taste of chicken meat. They can not only significantly enrich the taste of the finished dish, but also give it a golden sunny hue.

You can add chicken cubes to a wide variety of dishes, not only in the first hot dishes, but also in the second, as well as side dishes. Significantly, the use of this product is not limited to strict additions to dishes based on chicken meat - chicken cubes are perfectly combined with other types of meat, vegetables or mushrooms.

However, there are now more and more facts about the harm of chicken cubes to human health. The fact is that the stock of cubes is much worse in quality than a chicken-based dish due to its too high salt content. In addition, gastroenterologists unanimously argue that there is nothing in common between chicken cubes and bulk meat broth, so you need to abandon their use.

The essence of the problem lies in the composition of chicken cubes. The main ingredient in them is table salt, the amount of which reaches 50-60 percent. Dietetics experts have made a simple calculation that a single bowl of soup made from chicken cubes contains at least three grams of salt. And this despite the fact that the daily norm of this substance for an adult is 8-10 grams.
