Valerian root found widespread use in the medical industry. However, in cooking, valerian root is also in demand. For example, dried and ground valerian root is used as an independent spice or as part of mixtures of seasonings and spices.

Among other things, from the rhizome of the plant of the Valerian Himalayan species, valerian oil is obtained, which is used in aromatherapy. Valerian root is used in the process of producing alcohol containing tinctures, as well as liqueurs and essences. Few people guess that valerian root is considered an excellent flavor.

Some high-end varieties of Havana cigars, as well as high-quality tobacco, contain valerian root extracts as a flavor. In addition, valerian root is often present in the composition of a soothing and relaxing herbal or so-called phyto tea. It is worth emphasizing that in addition to invaluable benefits, there is also a negative side of the effect of valerian root on the human body.

For this reason, before starting treatment or prophylactic administration of drugs containing extracts or valerian root, it is worth consulting a doctor. Valerian root can cause sleep disorders and can also have a reverse excitatory effect on humans.
