Aira root

Aira root...

The root of the aira is highly appreciated by man not only for its medicinal properties, but also for its delicate spicy aroma, which makes it a rather popular spice in cooking. The smell of the root of the air resembles to many a subtle aroma that is formed when the characteristic odors of rose, violet, ginger, bay leaf and sage are mixed.

In general, in ancient times, the importance of the airs as a spicy plant was compared with the role of the bay leaf. When candied, the root of the aira replaced ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon combined. Moreover, the leaves of the plant are still used much less often today - most often fresh greens are added to salads to enrich the latter with useful substances and essential oils.

Many culinary experts like this plant for the fact that they can season sweet dishes, fruit soups and salads, a variety of sauces, as well as use it to fragrance confectionery and bakery products. So, the root of the aira is suitable for baking cookies, as well as making creams and puddings.

In addition, the root of the aira, along with the essential oil of the plant, is often used in the production of drinks, for example, compotes from pears, apples and rhubarb, as well as for jelly or mousse. In the liquor industry and the production of canned fish, aira root serves as an excellent natural flavor.

Candied aria rhizomes are considered a very expensive treat in Turkey, while Polish culinary experts add the leaves of this plant to bread dough to give it a greater aroma. In India, it is customary for an air to season meat - in particular poultry and fish.

And the aromatic properties of the root of the airy are perfectly manifested in the preparation of special tea, which arouses appetite, and also helps to reduce heartburn and improve the activity of the gallbladder. Regarding Russian cuisine, it is worth noting that the air appeared in it somewhere in the 15th - early 16th centuries and immediately acquired the status of a fairly common spice.

The root of the aira is also called a source of health, since it is an indispensable drug for more than dozens of different diseases. So, humans know powerful anti-inflammatory, painkillers, wound healing and soothing properties of the root of the airy.

In powder form, it is often used as a snuff that helps to get rid of sinus headache, blockage of sinuses or a common cold. In addition, it is suitable for healing wounds and festering ulcers, effective for wet suffocation, scurvy and dropsy. And during periods of epidemics, the root of the aira was considered one of the most effective preventive remedies for cholera and typhus.
