Robusta coffee

Robusta coffee...

Coffee is considered one of the world's most popular soft drinks. There are three main varieties of coffee. Perhaps the most famous coffee variety is Arabica. Congolese coffee or robusta is considered the second most common and popular variety of coffee drink. Robusta coffee or the official name Canephora Robusta coffee tree or Coffea Canephora is a plant in the Marenaceae family that belongs to the genus Coffee.

This coffee variety was first cultivated in Congo, Africa in 1870. Robusta coffee got its distinctive name due to its distinctive qualities and characteristics. Robusta or robusta literally translated from Latin means the word "strong. " It is no coincidence that such a robust coffee name was given. The plant is able to withstand various diseases, as well as grow in natural conditions that are harsh enough for coffee.

However, just because of such unpretentiousness, ease of cultivation, as well as high yield, this coffee variety is not as highly valued as, for example, arabica. There are two main types of robusta coffee - Coniglion du Brasil, Nanu, Kuilu, Java Ineak and Konjensis, which differ slightly in taste and aroma. Approximately 20% of global coffee production is robusta coffee. The robusta coffee plant is a long-lasting tree, or rather a shrub that rarely reaches 10 meters in height.

As a rule, the average robusta coffee bush does not exceed 2-3 meters. Robusta coffee beans differ in their rounded shape and size. Robusta coffee is used in mixtures for soluble or espresso coffee. It is noteworthy that the main difference between robusta coffee and arabica is the amount of caffeine. The thing is that robusta coffee includes more caffeine. For this reason, robusta coffee is perfectly combined and complements the less fragrant and tasteful arabica coffee.

True, real coffee connoisseurs claim that the robusta variety is significantly inferior in quality to Arabica. Robust coffee beans contain 8% aromatic oils and only 3% caffeine. Italians are considered the most devoted fans of robust coffee. In Italy, no espresso mix can do without robusta coffee.

After all, arabica has a tender and soft taste, and robusta is strong and bright. By mixing two coffees, you get a noble drink of espresso coffee, which conquered the whole world. In addition, widespread instant coffee is made in most cases from robusta. Arabica is too expensive a coffee variety for mass types of coffee drink.
