Porridge is a culinary product made from grains or cereals of cereal plants using water or milk. As a rule, salt, sugar, seasonings, spices, meat, including canned meat, such as stew, fresh fruits, jam or dried fruits, as well as nuts and other products, are added to cereals to improve the taste and nutritional content of the product.

In the Russian national culinary tradition, porridge occupy a special place of honor. In the West, porridge is ranked among the dishes that are traditionally eaten for breakfast. For example, the inhabitants of foggy Albion, the prim English simply do not imagine their daily diet without a national dish of oatmeal. As a rule, porridge is boiled in a saucepan on a stove or in cast iron in a Russian stove.

In addition, in a special dish, porridge can be prepared using modern microwave ovens. It is worth noting that porridge is considered one of the main food products of military rations, especially in military field conditions. However, not only the brave military needs porridge. Various types of porridge are used in baby food.

This speaks of the special nutritional value and usefulness of porridge for a growing childhood organism. Among the main types of porridge, the following most popular and common can be distinguished: buckwheat, rice, pea, oatmeal, barley, pearl barley, as well as millet, corn, thick-skinned and semolina porridge. Recently, canned porridge has become more and more in demand.

If you follow the terminology used in the food industry, canned porridge is nothing more than a food product that is completely ready and has undergone primary culinary heat treatment, which only needs to be heated before eating. In our latitudes, ready-made canned porridge is not as common as in the West.

In addition, canned porridge with meat is especially popular among domestic consumers. In fairness, it should be noted that the vast majority of domestic hostesses, like hundreds of years ago, prefer freshly prepared porridge at home. Among the most common varieties of canned porridge, the following types of product can be distinguished:

canned pearl barley porridge with pork;

As a rule, pet meat and occasionally poultry are used to make canned porridge. On the shelves of domestic grocery stores, you can easily find various types of canned porridge. However, experienced culinary experts argue that in order for canned porridge to be really tasty and nutritious, it is better to cook a culinary product at home.
