Lingonberry syrup

Lingonberry syrup...

Along with cranberries, lingonberry rightfully refers to berries that are very useful for human health. Interestingly, after collection, it may not deteriorate for a long time, which is due to the high content of benzoic acid in it. In addition, lingonberry contains a significant amount of vitamins and mineral elements important for the body, such as potassium, vitamin A, manganese, pectins, ascorbic acid and tannins.

However, due to the rather specific bitter-sour taste in the fresh form, lingonberries are not used very often. However, thanks to the resourcefulness and ingenuity of culinary experts, a dish was born that perfectly combines the healing qualities of lingonberry and its peculiar and at the same time pleasant taste - amazing lingonberry syrup.

Lingonberry syrup has a bright rich color and the ability to combine well to taste with a variety of products. In addition, quite often lingonberry syrup acts as a decorative decoration of all kinds of dishes. Interestingly, this product is compatible not only in fruits and sweet dishes, but also in fish, meat, poultry and vegetables. With lingonberry syrup, many dishes take on a more refined look and savoury taste.

Lingonberry syrup can be purchased not only in grocery stores, but even in pharmacies, as it is considered both an excellent food product and a natural medicine. It has been proven that drinking lingonberry syrup is especially effective in the presence of health problems such as rheumatism, gout, hypertension, colds, intestinal atonia, astheno-neurotic conditions, as well as salt deposits in the joints.

It is impossible not to pay attention to the fact that natural lingonberry syrup is also suitable for baby food, since it contains pectins alkaloids and trace elements that are necessary for the child's body. These special substances are distinguished by the ability to improve the mental and physical development of the child, so the daily addition of lingonberry syrup to the baby's diet will only benefit him.

Some prefer to harvest lingonberry syrup on their own, for which the chopped lingonberries are washed and squeezed out of the berries juice in any convenient way. The juice is poured into a saucepan, heated over a medium heat and cooked with sugar sand at a minimum temperature to the required consistency.
