Provence herbs

Provence herbs...

Provence herbs are a flavoursome seasoning that is widely used by culinary professionals around the world, as they are ideal for almost all first and second dishes. Thanks to the use of Provence herbs, ready-made dishes acquire a unique spicy-island taste and incomparable aroma. The name of this spicy mixture comes from the word Provence - a region in France that is famous around the world for its fragrant herbs.

Most often, Provence herbs are low-lying components of French, Mediterranean and other world cuisines. They combine wonderfully with all types of meat products, emphasizing the already expressive taste of the dishes. For example, a dish called Provence Chicken is especially popular, for the preparation of which pieces of poultry are rubbed with garlic, salt and a mixture of Provence herbs, after which they bake in the oven for about an hour.

Quite often, Provence herbs are added in the process of making a variety of soups and broths - the use of this spice largely makes the taste of the first courses richer. This spice is also widely used as a fragrant additive to salads and sauces. Sometimes it is simply indispensable when preparing minced meat, roast and fish dishes.

It is recommended to use Provence herbs and for dressing fatty dishes. At the same time, this seasoning is able to give taste and diversify dietary dishes that should be consumed without salt. Sometimes a mixture of herbs is added to pastries: for example, you can bake very fragrant potato bread with them. The Provence herbs are perfectly complemented by the taste of toasted potatoes.

Provence herbs are known not only as a fragrant seasoning that gives dishes a unique taste, but also as a very useful product that contains a large amount of active substances. In particular, essential oils, resins, tannins, enzymes, organic acids, minerals and vitamins are present in this spice. This spicy mixture promotes increased appetite and good digestion.

Composition of Provan herbs

The composition of Provence herbs is quite diverse and versatile, however, the main components without which this seasoning is simply impossible are rosemary, thyme, basil, peppermint, sage, fragrance (oregano), garden chaber and marjoram. These dry herbs are perfectly selected for their taste, so combining perfectly, they perfectly complement each other.

However, despite the obligatory ingredients in the composition of Provence herbs, the proportions of individual components can be called very arbitrary. It is meant that each individual mixture directly depends on the requirements of the recipe and the personal preferences of the cook.
