It is believed that it is black sesame that is most popular, which is distinguished by a more saturated nut aroma and pronounced healing properties. This type of sesame, which is usually used not only for food, but also for medicinal purposes, is advised to germinate.

Interestingly, according to Assyrian legend, before creating the world, the gods consumed wine made from sesame seeds. That is, the history of this plant begins even before our land appeared.

There is an opinion that black sesame, along with the rest of its species, comes from India - this is confirmed by another early Indian legend in which these miniature seeds symbolized immortality. Anyway, sesame or otherwise sesame can be called a magic plant. The famous phrase from Arabic fairy tales "Sesame, open up! " reflects the special property of mature sesame boxes to burst with a loud click.

Today, black sesame is at the peak of its popularity - in particular, it is in demand in Japan. Black sesame is not only an excellent flavour additive to food, which also has healing properties, but also the basis for preparing a wide variety of dishes. For example, with the addition of black sesame seeds, delicious jams, puddings, pastes are prepared, added to ice cream, tofu and biscuits, and cakes are sprinkled with them.

Benefits of black sesame

Black sesame is considered magical not only because of the mention in fairy tales, but also because it is endowed with pogrom benefits for a human body. Thus, the benefits of black sesame are contained in its composition, which contains copper, manganese, tryptophan (an essential amino acid), iron, zinc, phosphorus and a number of vitamins. In addition, black sesame is recognized as the champion among other products in terms of calcium content.

It is worth noting that if earlier the Japanese highly appreciated black sesame exclusively as a seasoning, then over the past decades, scientists have proven that the seeds of this plant contain special substances that are able to regulate oxygen metabolism in the human body. Therefore, the benefits of black sesame are due to the ability to restrain aging processes and promote cell renewal.

However, this product also has its own contraindications. In particular, black sesame seeds and seedlings are strongly discouraged from being consumed with increased levels of blood clotting, as well as if you have a tendency to thrombus formation and varicose veins.
