Alga ulva (sea salad)

Alga ulva (sea salad)...

Alga ulva refers to edible seaweed, which is distinguished by a very delicate structure. It can be easily assembled along the coast after a storm, recognizing it by its saturated green color. The favorite habitat of these algae is shallow water, since the hive loves light and heat very much. The second name for this fairly common seaweed is sea salad, due to the fact that the large thallus of this green seaweed, in fact, looks like lettuce leaves.

Algae are resistant to various contaminants, so the hive can live and reproduce in places of accumulation of coastal population. Interestingly, this algae multiplies in two ways: with the help of mobile cells that appear on the site of the mother's thallum, or close to its base, the tiny body of the young algae of the hive (sea salad) can be born.

Playing an important role in the biological chain, this species of algae serves as food for many underwater inhabitants, such as sea dogs, for example. And crabs are not at all against eating juicy leaves of algal ulva (sea salad).

It improves the microcirculation of blood, thinning it, and strengthens the tissues. With rickets and sclerosis, this is not only a wonderful preventive, but also a drug.

In Russia, this type of algae is occasionally added to side dishes that are great for fish and meat dishes. When baking muffins, waffles, cookies, as well as making puddings, ulvu seaweed (sea salad) is added to the dough. Ready-made flour products do not stale for a long time and acquire an original taste. In raw form, ulvu seaweed (sea salad) is usually added to salads or put in soups. With a very tender and pleasant taste, this seaweed is able to enrich seafood dishes. Using ulva seaweed (sea salad) as a side dish, you get a truly healthy and nutritious dish.
