Pelamide fish
Pelamids or sardis include a genus of flock predatory fish that belongs to the Mackerel family (Scombridae). It is noteworthy that this genus includes as many as four subspecies:
Australian pelamide (Sarda australis),
eastern pelamide (Sarda orientalis),
Chilean pelamide (Sarda chiliensis),
Atlantic pelamide (Sarda sarda).
Basically, it is the last type of pelamide fish that falls on our table, which is found mainly off the coast of Africa, America and Europe (penetrating north to southern Norway and England) - its habitat is also the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
The pelamide fish is a predator. She feeds on anchovies, mackerel, sardines, stavrids. It is unusually gluttonous - in the stomach of one individual you can count up to seventy-five hamsa fish. With a weight of seven kilograms, pelamide fish can reach 85 centimeters in length, but more standard sizes are 3-4 kilograms and no more than 60-65 centimeters.
Pelamide fish meat has good food qualities. It is quite fatty (by autumn, up to 12 percent of fat accumulates in the Black Sea pelamide in the muscles) and, as a rule, is consumed in canned or smoked form. In particular, Chilean pelamide is valuable due to tasty and tender meat, which, although it has a specific taste, completely loses it with proper processing.
Pelamide fish is also appreciated due to its rich chemical composition. Pelamide contains chlorine, sodium, sulfur, zinc, manganese, fluorine, phosphorus, iodine, potassium, which are so necessary for our body. In addition, some vitamins of group B, A, C, E, PP are present in the pelamide fish.
The benefits of pelamide fish for human health are also due to its ability to form hemoglobin in the blood, which occurs by stimulating protein synthesis. In addition, regular consumption of this marine fish improves tissue regeneration, as well as the general state of the spinal cord and brain. Substances in the composition of pelamide are involved in the transportation of vital oxygen to cells.
Due to the numerous beneficial properties of pelamide fish, dishes based on it are recommended to include pregnant women, nursing mothers and children of different age groups in the diet. By the way, in addition to healthy fat, there is a lot of animal protein in pelamide, which is almost completely absorbed by the human body.
Contraindications to the use of pelamide fish include personal intolerance to this seafood. Smoked, salted, very fatty fish are harmful for people with diseases of the liver, kidneys, digestive and cardiovascular systems, but when boiled, not very fatty pelamide is extremely useful.
