Mahi-mahi fish (corifena)

Mahi-mahi fish (corifena)...

For many inhabitants of the deep sea, scientists have come up with their own special names, while the people are increasingly entrenched in other - somehow characterizing the special features of each particular individual. Take, for example, a rather interesting fish that belongs to the monotypic Coryphenus family - Coryphenus.

Indigenous people of the Caribbean islands call coryphene fish nothing more than mahi-mahi. Mahi-mahi (corifena) fish can also bear other, equally common names, including golden mackerel. This rather large and unusually attractive fish lives mainly in the basins of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans.

Large individuals of mahi-mahi fish (corifena) often reach a length of two meters, while the weight of these giants can be about thirty kilograms. However, on average, mahi-mahi (corifena) fish are caught, weighing approximately fifteen kilograms.

The back coloration of the mahi-mahi (corifena) fish may be both blue and green, but it is generally very bright and sparkling. This sea beauty is characterized by silver or gold with a red tint of the sides, along which blue spots are scattered.

However, not only the color is so attractive in the fish mahi-mahi (corifena), but also its very appearance - as if its body flattened on the sides is quite long. At the same time, the head, like the body itself, is also flattened, and a high forehead or convex tubercle forms at the top of the head. By the way, the mouth of the mahi-mahi fish (corifena) is located quite low.

The meat of this fish is characterized by juiciness and tenderness, which is extremely unusual: the fat content of the mahi-mahi (corifena) fish is at a fairly low level. As a rule, for culinary purposes, it is customary to bake or fry it, before cutting it into large pieces. Interestingly, domestic sailors prefer mahi-mahi (corifena) fish to marinate a little, and then eat it almost raw.

Not only are the gastronomic qualities of this fish highly appreciated, but the benefits of mahi-mahi for humans are also obvious. This is due to the presence of a considerable amount of vital substances in the composition of this fish. Without going into details, the meat of this aquatic inhabitant contains a whole mineral set and a vitamin complex.

According to experts, fish that lives in seawater is especially useful, since its meat is rich in mineral salts, from the shortage of which a lot of people suffer. This also includes the fish mahi-mahi (corifena), so its regular use has an extremely beneficial effect on the human condition in general.
