Letrine fish...

Letrin fish is quite difficult to find on the shelves of our stores, but not because it is an exquisite marine delicacy or because of the exorbitant price, but because of its habitat. Northern Australia and the shores of the Malay archipelago are not so close to our continent, although the popularity of letrine fish is quite high in its homeland.

This exotic fish for our edges in adulthood reaches quite impressive sizes (up to 80 centimeters in length with a weight of 9 kilograms). Outwardly, the letrin fish is characterized by an elongated body, slightly compressed laterally. It has a long head without scales and an elongated snout. The coloration of this marine inhabitant can range from light brown to dark blue. Moreover, its scales are so shiny that they reflect the color of the environment. Letrin fish feed on mollusks, echinoderms, crustaceans, and sometimes they are not averse to whipping and small fish.

Letrin fish meat has increased taste, and due to its reduced fat content, it is a wonderful dietary product. As for any sea fish, there are no special ways to prepare it, so you can safely experiment. Frying, braising, boiling, baking - choose the option you like best and enjoy the taste of the delicate and juicy white meat of letrine fish.
