Chips nori

Chips nori...

Nori chips are considered a very popular type of snack in Asia, which in recent years have been in increasing demand in other countries of the world. In general, nori chips are made from asakusa-nori sea cabbage belonging to the genus Porphyra (Porphyra), which is pressed and dried.

As thin as a piece of paper, nori chips are dark brown with shades from green to almost black. By the way, the color of nori chips is considered an indicator of the quality of this product. So, dark shiny nori chips are much tastier than the cheaper analogue of the reddish nori. When dried, nori algae is mostly hissin-black, and toasted nori chips are characterized by a greenish tint.

Before making nori chips, traditionally seaweed is dried in the sun, spread on frames made of wood or bamboo. Original (without specific additives) nori chips are obtained with a slight smoky taste, but the natural "oceanic aroma" of ready-made algae is considered the undoubted advantage of this product.

Nori chips in sealed bags, laid in several pieces, and then packed in comfortable containers with a lid, go on sale. The clear advantage of such nori chips is that the product can be stored for quite a long time, so use it gradually.

Nori chips include not only seaweed itself, but also flavors such as sugar, soy sauce (made from water, soybeans, wheat, salt and sugar), as well as a variety of spices. Moreover, the distinctive taste of nori chips directly depends on the aromatic substances used: mushroom, spicy, original, tomato, with sesame, wasabi, green tea.

It is noteworthy that previously only dried nori could be purchased in Japan - the plates had to be fried immediately before serving. Today, nori chips already fried and ready for use as a snack or an additive to a variety of dishes are on sale around the world.

One cannot but say about the beneficial properties of both seaweed and nori chips in particular. It has been proven that spiced with spicy nori chips are able to remove toxic substances from the human body. In addition, they help improve digestion, arouse appetite, kill intestinal parasites, lower blood pressure, and also help cleanse sweat glands.

In addition, nori chips are rich in protein, mineral substances, as well as some vitamins. This product is a source of biologically active compounds: chlorophyll derivatives, polyunsaturated fatty acids, fucoidans, polysaccharides and many others.
