From ancient times to the present, garlic is an unusually popular garden plant, highly valued not only for its taste, but also for its medicinal qualities. Interestingly, in the process of growth, garlic discards green arrows, which are characterized by the same properties as bulbs. Garlic arrows are also suitable for food - they are often used to prepare various delicious dishes or harvest greens for future use.

As you know, the green arrows of garlic delight us in the summer for only two weeks, so it is quite problematic to enjoy and heal ourselves with their help. Meanwhile, garlic arrows prepared for future use (pickled, for example) are an excellent source of vitamins and a natural remedy for a long cold winter.

Before preparing the garlic arrows, the pickled tips of the shoots, on which small bulbs with seeds are located, are usually removed. This is due to the fact that the shell of miniature bulbs is quite rigid, so it is quite suitable for food.

Pickled greens are washed and cut into small pieces for harvesting garlic arrows, after which they are blanched, dried and put into jars. Then the marinade is prepared, with which raw materials are poured hot and rolled up. In this form, pickled garlic arrows can be stored for a long time - at least a year, however, over time, their beneficial properties are somewhat weakened, as well as a partially characteristic island taste.

The calorie content of garlic arrows pickled per 100 grams of greens is only 24 kcal, which is why adding this product to other dishes, significantly enriching them with useful elements, does not add extra nutritional value. So, pickled garlic arrows are well combined with products such as squash, beets, spinach, meat, eggs, mayonnaise, butter, cheese, lemon juice, mustard and soy sauce.

The benefits of pickled garlic arrows, as well as fresh greens, are simply obvious to the human body - their composition contains a lot of valuable substances. Regular consumption within reasonable limits of this product suppresses the processes of fermentation and decay in the intestinal tract, and also helps in the treatment of hypertension and atherosclerosis.

It has been proven that not only bulbs, but also garlic arrows, even in pickled form, contribute to the prevention of diseases caused by intestinal parasites. In addition, they are also effective in preventing infectious diseases.

It should be mentioned that garlic arrows pickled due to the high content of sulfide components in them not only help in the fight against dysentery bacillus, staphylococci and harmful fungi, but also contribute to the absorption of blood clots and platelets.
