Serrano pepper

Serrano pepper...

It seems that almost every person at least once in his life tried burning and there was no hot chili pepper. Although there are probably those who simply do not present their usual menu without dishes cooked with fire chili. This small-sized burning pepper is referred to the fruits of the plant of Chile, which gave the name of this spice. By the way, chili peppers have been known to humanity since the time of the Maya, Incas and Aztecs on the continent of America.

Translated from the language of the indigenous population of Mexico, the word chile means "red, " and as a result, the color is not always safe. And in fact, Mother Nature did not give the fruits of the plant a red color in vain - this is a kind of sign of the danger emanating from the burning qualities of chili peppers. However, in addition to the red color, this pepper also comes in dark green or yellow shades.

It is noteworthy that this vegetable also has varieties, among which serrano pepper stands out, which is a small very sharp fruit in the form of a bullet, the length of which does not exceed four centimeters. It is native to serrano peppers from mountainous areas of Mexico, namely Hidalgo and Pueblo. As a rule, this hot pepper is used in a variety of sauces and salsa, adding characteristic sharpness and crunch to ready-made meals.

Serrano peppers in an unripe form are distinguished by a light green color, but after ripening it acquires a red color characteristic of a kind. These shiny, smooth fruits have thin enough walls, making serrano peppers ideal for eating. It is best to eat this pepper raw and slightly unripe, that is, when the fruits are still painted green - it is not so burning. Otherwise, it is customary to salt or marinate serrano peppers.

As it turned out, regular consumption of foods that are seasoned with serrano pepper helps residents of Latin America and Asian countries not only feel great, but also to a large extent strengthen immunity. Proof of such properties of serrano pepper is the composition of this vegetable, which contains a lot of nutrients. For example, the amount of vitamin C in this pepper is even slightly higher compared to all the known source of this substance - lemon.

In addition, serrano peppers promote the production of endorphins in the human body - hormones that help improve blood circulation and strengthen defenses. According to the latest studies, the systematic addition of serrano pepper to the diet has a strengthening effect on the human nervous system, and also helps in the fight against depression and stress.
