Canned cherries

Canned cherries...

Cherry tomatoes are good not only fresh, but also canned. Most often, canned cherry can be represented by a wide variety of blanks: pickled or salted cherry tomatoes, in tomato juice or whole in a water-based pour (the so-called own juice). And also canned cherries are often understood as tomato juice, sauce and even jam from these miniature tomatoes. As you know, these attractive sweet fruits can be part of a variety of vegetable assortments, lechos and salads.

No doubt for most people, the favourite kind of canned cherry is the one made in marinade. Such a product is characterized by a pleasant acid and a subtle sweetness. These canned cherries, unusually mouth-watering and beautiful, are excellent for serving as a savoury snack or used as a standalone dish.

Canned cherries are considered a very original starter, if stuffed. Moreover, for the preparation of such a meal, not only mature fruits are quite suitable, but also underaged miniature vegetables. Minced meat can be made from a variety of vegetable crops and herbs: green and bulb onions, carrots, garlic, parsley, dill or celery. Stuffed cherries are poured with tomato juice, then sterilized.

For canned cherries to be successful, you need to know some nuances in their preparation. For example, the right choice of source products, namely cherry tomatoes, can play an important role. For example, for the preparation of tomato puree, completely mature, soft fruits are ideal, while for jam it is customary to use green vegetables, which are characterized by dense flesh. You can salt and marinate cherry tomatoes of completely different degrees of maturity, only it is recommended to preserve them separately from each other, without mixing varieties in one jar.

When choosing cherry tomatoes for canning, always make sure that there are no damage and spots on vegetables, otherwise - blanks with such tomatoes will probably be poorly stored. In the process of canning the whole cherry, which most often happens, their tops need to be pierced with a toothpick so that during thermal treatment they do not crack.

By the way, no matter what method of preparing canned cherries you like, do not forget that vitamins, mineral salts and other substances valuable to the human body are best preserved in fruits prepared entirely. The calorie content of canned cherries can vary depending on the additives you choose, but in general the nutritional value of this kind of products is quite low.
