Dried apricots

Dried apricots...

Uryuk is a dried fruit of an apricot tree with a bone. The homeland of these trees is considered to be Central Asia and Dagestan. It must be remembered that there are several types of dried apricot, only three: dried apricot, uryuk and kaisa. Uryuk differs in that it appears to be a whole dried fruit, and in some cases this occurs naturally with the help of the sun and people simply remove it from the tree. Almost all peoples perceive uryuk only as an ordinary sweetness, a dried fruit that can be added to various porridge, however, the indigenous people of Central Asia believe that the name uryuk, and not kuraga or kaisa, has some healing properties and it contains the secret of longevity.

Residents of Central Asia perceive uruk as a gift of Allah, they really appreciate this fruit. It is often used in various culinary dishes not only to give certain taste qualities, but also to give the desired color to the dish, that is, they act as a natural dye. In Russia, uryuk is not as common as dried apricots, probably due to the fact that the fruit dries along with the bone and its consumption causes some inconvenience. You should pay attention to its color when buying uruk on the market, if it is bright, then the fruit has been chemically processed for the sake of a "marketable appearance, " so it is better to choose more or less nondescript fruits.

The benefits of uryuk

The benefit of uryuk lies primarily in the fact that it contains incredibly useful substances, minerals and vitamins. No wonder it is so often used in Central Asia when preparing a dish, the beneficial properties of uryuk are also manifested in combination with other products. You can be sure that the benefits of uryuk will be tangible even when eating traditional Asian pilaf, uryuk is added there not because of its taste, but because of its color, it helps the dish to become exactly the shade that the cook needs. Thus, uruk acts as an alternative to expensive saffron. The useful properties of uryuk prompted people to add it to various lamb dishes, as well as add it to sauces and drinks.

Uryuk compote is considered very useful, especially if combined with some other dried fruits. Uryuk contains a special wealth - carotene, which, entering the human body, experiences an interesting transformation and becomes vitamin A, which is very useful for vision and skin. Also, uryuk contains potassium salts, this substance is absolutely indispensable for diseases of the cardiovascular system. The calorie content of uryuk is quite high, about 242 kcal in 100 grams, so using this product in the morning you will get a large amount of energy for the whole day. Dietary fiber, which is part of the chemical composition of the product, helps to remove harmful toxins from the body.

Harm of Uryuk

The harm of uryuk is a rather relative concept. Uryuk can only harm the body if it is eaten too much, since the product is rich in carbohydrates and fiber, body weight gain can happen.
