Pineapple candied fruit

Pineapple candied fruit...

From about the 17th century, when, with the light hand of the French, cooking began to be considered art, and the meal acquired the features of a refined aesthetic, candied fruits are a fairly frequent decoration of the dessert table. It is customary to obtain this product from fresh berries, fruits, citrus peels, some types of vegetable crops (pumpkins, carrots and green tomatoes), as well as dairy nuts with proper boiling of them in sugar syrup. Moreover, before cooking, some berries and fruits are soaked in water so that they do not lose shape. After heat treatment, candied fruits are rolled in sugar and dried in an oven.

Ready-made candied fruits are stacked in cans - each species can be individually or different berries and fruits are mixed in such a way that an attractive set is obtained. For this, differently colored candied fruits are selected, for example, slices of apples and pears with plums, mountain ash or cherries. In order for candied fruits not to moisten during storage, it is recommended to seal them hermetically by rolling up glass jars with tin lids or tightly closing them with cellophane or parchment.

Today, the assortment of such products is unusually wide - domestic and foreign producers offer candied fruits made both from fruits characteristic of our region and more exotic fruits. For example, pineapple candied fruits are one of the most common and sought-after varieties of these dried fruits.

Natural candied fruits made of pineapple are distinguished by excellent taste qualities and a number of useful properties, but this can only be discussed when the product is made of high-quality raw materials and artificial food additives were not used in the production process. Such pineapple candied fruits are remarkably suitable for culinary use not only as a component (or decoration) for baking, but can also become a tasty dessert in their own right.

You can cook candied fruits from pineapple at home - for this you need to take care of the availability of three products in advance: pineapple itself, granulated sugar and water. Making pineapple candied fruit involves pre-peeling the fruit and cutting it into the required pieces - these can be either circles or strips or cubes.

By the way, in addition to fresh fruit, even a canned sweet product, which is available in sugar syrup, is suitable as a raw material for preparing candied fruit from pineapple. Then it is not necessary to additionally use water - it is enough to add some sugar sand to the syrup.
