If you follow the terminology used in the food industry, meat semi-finished products are products made of pork meat, beef, lamb and other types of meat that are already ready for cooking. As a rule, for the manufacture of meat semi-finished products I use various types of meat, as well as semi-finished products. For the manufacture of some types of meat semi-finished products, chicken eggs, flour, spices, as well as bread are used.

Types of meat semi-finished products

It is believed that meat semi-finished products are products made of chopped or natural meat that have not been heat treated. In the modern food industry, the classification of meat semi-finished products takes into account primarily the method of processing, as well as the culinary purpose of the final product. In accordance with the above factors, the following main types of meat semi-finished products are distinguished:



natural meat semi-finished products are made from meat which has been pre-cooled;

portion meat semi-finished products are produced from chilled meat of improved quality, for example, from beef - fillet, entrecote, langet, beefsteak with a notch, from pork, as well as lamb and veal, cutlets, chops, schnitzel, escalop are made;

finely chunky meat semi-finished products are made from meat, which refers to the back, back-phase or lumbar part of the carcass, for example, beef, pork or lamb are made from beef, beef, aza, toast, gulash, meat for kebabs, as well as soup sets, stew and meat for pilaf;

large meat semi-finished products are massive whole pieces of meat separated from bone; breaded meat semi-finished products are produced from frozen or chilled meat, which is preliminarily beaten and covered with culinary breading;

chopped meat semi-finished products are produced from meat intended for making cutlets, as well as from raw fat, eggs and spices; minced meat;

dumplings, ravioli, zraza, cabbage rolls, etc. ;

meat sticks.



Currently, on the shelves of most domestic grocery stores you can find a rich variety of meat semi-finished products. However, a semi-finished product is different and not always even an appetising-looking product will become tasty, and more importantly a healthy dish in your diet. As a rule, meat semi-finished products, as well as other varieties of products belonging to this group, are sold in frozen or chilled form.

The quality of any meat semi-finished product will directly depend on the initial composition of the ingredients that are used to produce the product. For example, some meat semi-finished products are much cheaper. This is not surprising if we take into account that natural large-sized meat semi-finished products are made from whole pieces of meat, and in addition to meat, the chopped product includes finely chopped offal, as well as various flavors and food additives. Among the abundance of meat semi-finished products, it can sometimes be very difficult to recognize a really high-quality product.
