Waffle cakes are rightfully considered one of the most necessary components in each hostess's kitchen. They are a versatile semi-finished product for a wide variety of culinary masterpieces. At the same time, their unconditional advantage can be called simplicity and ease of use. The calorie content of waffle cakes is about 341 kcal per hundred grams of ready-made flour product.

As a rule, many inexperienced culinary experts believe that only cakes can be made on the basis of waffle cakes, but this is completely wrong. All sorts of rolls, pies, cheesecakes with a variety of fillings, sweet sandwiches and more - and this is just the beginning of a huge list of culinary creations made from waffle cakes.

All kinds of filling layers are used to prepare cakes from waffle cakes. Boiled condensed milk combined with nuts is especially popular, but jam, jams, povidlo, yogurt, fresh or canned fruits and berries, as well as sour cream or fatty cream beaten with sugar remain no less favorite. In addition, you can layer ready-made cakes with various types of pastry cream - custard, protein, marshmallow or any other, under the influence of which the cakes soften.

If you want the finished cake to keep the waffle cakes at their original hardness and crunch, you need to pour melted chocolate over them before you wash the cream, which should be frozen. An unusually delicious cake is obtained if one of the layers is washed with thick jam, jam or fruit puree. However, it should be borne in mind that the components for the cream should be properly cooled. The only exception is butter - when softened (not melted), it is easier to beat, and the finished cream is more airy.

In addition, thanks to the neutral taste, in which there is absolutely no sweetness, waffle cakes are successfully used to prepare various snacks and unsweetened hot dishes. So, for example, lazy chops, which are wrapped in waffle cakes of minced meat, are fervently loved by both chefs and gastronomy lovers. During cooking, such rolls are fried in vegetable oil, pre-baked in crumbs.

Today you can find two types of waffle cakes on sale - round and rectangular (square). However, whatever option you choose, the composition of the waffle cakes remains almost unchanged - prime wheat flour, refined sunflower oil, table salt and baking soda.

In the case of using other additives, the calorie content of waffle cakes accordingly increases, thereby regular consumption of this product in unlimited quantities is fraught with excess weight. That is why it is recommended to enjoy dishes using this semi-finished product within reasonable limits.
