Ziti pasta

Ziti pasta...

For Italians, pasta is not just pasta made from hard wheat. Italians are so devoted to their national pasta that no day passes without some kind of paste under various sauces. In the national culinary tradition, today there are about 350 varieties of pasta.

It is worth noting that real masters of Italian cuisine know a lot about pasta and can skillfully use this or that type of pasta to the place. Many world-famous Italian dishes involve the use of pasta, so there is a clear classification of pasta. Among the main types of Italian pasta are long (vermicelli, spaghetti, bucatini), short (penne), curly (farfalle, gnocchi), small (filini) pasta, as well as pasta for baking (lasagne, canelloni).

Dough with filling, for example, ravioli or tortellini, as well as soup pasta, are separated into a separate group. Ziti pasta stands out among other varieties for its original appearance. Smooth and long ziti tubes are among the fairly popular types of Italian pasta. The medium-sized thin tubular ziti paste is in particular demand in the inhabitants of Sicily, as well as Campania.

It is worth noting that in addition to small ziti, zitoni paste is made in Italy, which is distinguished by its more impressive size. Most often, ziti paste is baked with meat or cheese filling. According to tradition, ziti pasta is served at the table during wedding celebrations. Ziti paste can be used to make casseroles.

To make ziti paste, the following ingredients will be needed: pasta, Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese, garlic, tomatoes, salt, pepper to taste, onions, basil, olive oil, garlic, thyme, as well as Italian smoked meats and sausages to choose from.

It is best to use a sweet type of Italian sausage for ziti paste, which is fried in olive oil and added garlic, thyme and basil. Ziti paste sauce is made from tomatoes, which are ground in a blender and added salt, pepper and other spices to taste.

The sauce is combined with sausage and brought to a boil. The ziti paste is boiled, then placed in a baking dish. Sauce is added to the pasta, and thinly chopped slices of cheese are laid on top and baked for 15-20 minutes in the oven.
