Marshmallow marshmallows

Marshmallow marshmallows...

Marshmallow marshmallow is a fairly new and unknown product in our country. This is an analogue of such a common sweetness as pastille, but eggs are not present in the recipe. Sometimes it is called mini-marshmallows, but despite the external resemblance to this treat, it is not such, since apple puree and egg white are mandatory in the marshmallows, and there are no such components in Marshmallow. It's just that they are similar in taste and structure, which is why the name is so.

It is believed that the first sweets, which resembled the modern marshmallows of Marshmallow, began to be made back in ancient Egypt. There they were made from the altar of medicine, extracting juice from this plant, which was mixed with honey and nuts. So it is or speculation - a mystery, but in the 19th century, French pastry chefs approached the modern version of this chewing marshmallow.

Interestingly, the very name of this sweetness "Marsh mallow" can be translated as "Swamp Malva, " which is a medicinal altar. From the root of this plant began to obtain a white jelly-like adhesive mass for making sweets, and then it was replaced with gelatin and starch. Eventually Marshmallow's modern chewing marshmallows first appeared in America in the 50s of the 20th century and immediately became unusually popular.

The kids of Americans simply adore putting Marshmallow in hot cocoa. In addition, one cannot fail to mention the most famous and somewhat stereotypically traditional way of eating this sweet product in the United States - to fry air lozenges on an open fire during a forest picnic. Warming up, Marshmallow marshmallows increase much in size, becoming viscous and very airy inside, and roasted and almost black on top.

For some time now, you can buy these sweets from us, in bags or for a weight. Most often marshmallows marshmallows in their homeland are white, but in Russian stores it is easier to find multi-colored flagella. Marshmallow's calorie content is about 330 kcal per 100 grams, which is quite a lot even for a sweet product.

Confectioners use this chewy marshmallow in different ways: you can add sweet pieces to desserts, fruit salads, ice cream, but most often our mistresses make mastic based on it, which is used to tight cakes and sculpt a variety of edible figures to decorate them.

Marshmallow line-up

We have already found out that Marshmallow and marshmallows are completely different products, but I would like to know what these air sweets are made of. Marshmallow is known to include granulated sugar or corn syrup as well as hot water softened gelatin. In addition, there are also a considerable amount of flavors in Marshmallow dextrose. All of these components are carefully whipped to provide such an interesting air-spongy consistency of this chewy marshmallow.

Due to its high sugar content, Marshmallow's calorie content is quite high, so despite the deceptive lightness of this sweet product, it is still not worth abusing it if you do not want extra centimeters at the waist.
