Blackcurrant jam

Blackcurrant jam...

Blackcurrant jam is rightfully considered an excellent sweet dish, which perfectly combines both extraordinary gastronomic characteristics and a lot of useful properties for a person. There is nothing strange about this, because blackcurrant jam contains almost the same set of vitamins and minerals as fresh berries.

Blackcurrants are rich in vitamins of group B, PP, A (RE), beta-carotene and a considerable amount of ascorbic acid. In addition, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus and sodium are present from mineral salts into jam from these wonderful maroon berries.

Despite the fact that you can easily buy ready-made blackcurrant jam in the nearest store, most housewives prefer to harvest this magnificent sweet meal on their own. The process of making black-rose jam, like any other product based on fresh berries and sugar, is quite simple. The most important thing is to have juicy mature fruits and high-quality granulated sugar.

Traditionally, blackcurrant jam is cooked during the season of abundant fruiting of this plant - in the middle or end of the summer pore. One kilogram of berries typically requires about half a kilogram of sugar. Currants are washed, the berries are separated from the hands and, when added, a minimum amount of water (or without it) is cooked with constant stirring until completely softened. When boiling, granulated sugar is added in parts and after the last serving, blackcurrant jam is cooked for about ten more minutes.

The ready-made treat can be used in different ways: someone prefers to simply pour blackcurrant jam into a vase and enjoy it in its purest form with a cup of fragrant tea, and some adore making all sorts of desserts and pastries with it.

The calorie content of blackcurrant jam is approximately 284 kcal per hundred grams of berry treat, which you will agree a lot. However, the benefits of this natural product more than pay off the increased nutritional value if consumed infrequently and within reasonable limits.

The rather high calorie content of blackcurrant jam is due to the considerable sugar content, but this condition is simply necessary, because otherwise the treat simply cannot be stored for a long time. This is due to the fact that granulated sugar in this case acts as a natural preservative that does not harm human health. True, except for the likely opportunity to get much better if you regularly abuse this wonderful product.
