Pineapple jam

Pineapple jam...

Attractive exotic pineapples, which in Soviet times were an inaccessible overseas delicacy, are easy to purchase today in almost any domestic supermarket. Fresh mature pineapples feature a rich sweet taste and tropical aroma.

Unfortunately, it often happens that after acquiring the fruits, it is found that the pineapple was not particularly tasty (sour) or not juicy enough. In such a situation, there is an excellent way out so as not to throw away the fruit - you can easily make tasty and beautiful pineapple jam from it. I must say that jam is also very appetising from a juicy and fragrant pineapple, but hardly anyone will agree to use such a fruit for processing.

Ready-made pineapple jam can be used to layer cookies, pour rice or curd casserole over them, serve to pancakes and fritters. Even with a cup of tea and a piece of loaf, such a treat will undoubtedly appeal to everyone. Pineapple jam can be purchased today in grocery stores, or you can cook it yourself.

In the second case, in addition to the pineapple itself, you will need to use granulated sugar and a small amount of water. In addition, pineapple jam can be prepared with the addition of a natural gelfix thickener, thanks to which the finished dish will have a thick and tender consistency. In addition, by using it, not only significantly reduces the cooking time of pineapple jam, but also the amount of sugar needed.

The pineapple is cleaned from the top layer, the core is cut, and the flesh is cut into arbitrary small pieces, which are filled with sugar and left for half an hour to separate the juice. After that, water is added to the sweet fruit mass and future pineapple jam is simmered for about fifteen minutes. If desired, taste and aroma ingredients (badyan, cinnamon, lemon juice) are added during the preparation process. The finished pineapple jam can be left in pieces, or it can be crushed using a submersible blender - then you get a pineapple jam.

Interestingly, pineapple jam is not only an unusually delicious sweet treat, but also a rather healthy product (especially if cooked using minimal sugar). The fact is that fresh fruits include a considerable number of dietary fibers, vitamins C, PP, B, A, potassium, magnesium and a number of other nutrients.

The benefits of this product for human health are also that the natural compounds contained in it contribute to blood thinning, thereby preventing blockage of blood vessels. In other words, pineapple and jam from it are an excellent preventive against strokes and heart attacks.
