Waffle cups

Waffle cups...

Waffles are commonly called flour confections, which are very thin baked sheets that can be layered with or without filling. There are a large number of wafer options today - these can be like simple flat waffle sheets of round, square or rectangular shape, waffle horns, snack tubes, as well as waffle cups.

For example, waffle cups are distinguished by a specific property - they emit a crunch when exposed. This quality of waffle cups is due not only to a very low moisture content, but also to a special corrugated checkered surface, as well as to a fine-porous internal structure of the products.

Most often, crisp and very light waffle cups are used in the production of ice cream, which, in fact, they fill up, after which they go on sale. On an industrial scale, waffle cups are produced in special machines, which, unfortunately, are almost impossible to replace at home with conventional household waffles.

The fact is that, unlike cones (horns), which are flour products wrapped in a certain way, waffle cups differ in the presence of a bottom, which is unrealistic to make on its own. That is why ready-made waffle cups, quite often found in free sale, are in demand among lovers of ice cream and other sweet dishes.

At home, you can also fill waffle cups with ice cream, and then decorate it with pieces of fruit or fresh berries. And in the role of a delicious, but very satisfying filler, boiled condensed milk is often used. In general, almost any product that likes a sweet tooth can serve as a filling for waffle cups.

In addition, thanks to the neutral, fresh taste of waffle cups, they can be used to make various unsweetened dishes. For example, filling waffle cups with meat, fish or vegetable mince, and then frying them in a pan, you get quite tasty and satisfying meals.

Composition of waffle cups

Industrial waffle cups, along with wheat flour, include components such as drinking water, food salt, sodium hydrogen carbonate, as well as vegetable oil and lecithin, which plays the role of a natural emulsifier. It is noteworthy that the last two ingredients in the composition of waffle cups are sometimes replaced by egg products.

The calorie content of waffle cups is about 341 kcal, which are contained in one hundred grams of these flour products. Interestingly, in terms of one cup, this is completely small, so this product can be consumed almost without restrictions. But the calorie content of waffle cups in which the filling is present increases significantly, so you should be careful with this kind of treats.
