Rice pudding

Rice pudding...

Pudding is called the traditional English dessert, which began to be made back in the Middle Ages. Currently, chicken eggs are used in the manufacture of pudding, as well as flour, sugar and milk. The composition of the pudding may include various flavors which impart a particular taste to the finished confectionery product and also enhance the nutritional value of the product.

According to the classic recipe, pudding is prepared in a water bath. Pudding is served to the table as a dessert, usually chilled. Historically, in the pudding's home country of England, the dish was served exclusively to the Christmas table or on special occasions. It is worth noting that the first puddings had absolutely nothing to do with modern dessert.

Once upon a time for every Christmas, the inhabitants of the British Isles prepared a "plum porridge" or a special type of porridge, which was cooked on meat broth. This Christmas porridge included bread crumbs, honey, raisins and prunes, and almonds. They served dishes for dessert and certainly in hot form. Later, the name, as well as the recipe of the dish, transformed and turned into a flame pudding.

Already in the XIII century, pudding for the festive was served on an unprecedented scale. The finished dessert was poured with cognac on top and set on fire. Such a dessert as pudding is firmly entrenched not only in the English, but also in the global culinary tradition. Nowadays, there are just a colossal number of different varieties of puddings.

Among the most widespread and popular are such types of pudding as: chocolate, fruit, manna, bread, berry, caramel and rice puddings. It is noteworthy that pudding can act not only as a dessert, but also as a main course. Pudding can be made with meat, offal, as well as sausage.

Perhaps the most popular of all the above types of dessert can be considered rice pudding, which is a dish made from rice, milk, as well as sugar and other flavors. It is worth noting that rice pudding refers to dishes, the recipe of which can be found in the culinary traditions of many world states.

It is for this reason that there is no single or standard recipe for making dessert. Each country has its own distinctive way of making rice pudding. Rice, as well as milk and chicken eggs, are considered a mandatory component of the rice pudding composition.

In addition to these ingredients, rice pudding can include spices such as cinnamon, ginger or nutmeg, as well as flavors such as vanilla, rose water, orange and others. Also, in the process of preparing rice pudding, sugar or its substitutes are used, for example, honey, condensed milk, syrup or fresh fruits.
