Not only in specialized, but also in ordinary stores among the whole variety of jars with yellow-amber content today you can also find sunflower honey. As a rule, it is distinguished by a bright yellow color, thick structure and a moderate aroma, which gives off fruity notes - a real sun in a jar. Sunflower honey is produced in many countries - in Russia, Italy, Spain, USA, France and Bulgaria. By the way, in Bulgaria, for example, a third of all honey production falls on this wonderful product.

Sunflower honey is not as sticky as other varieties of this bee treat. Its delicate crystals melt easily in the mouth, while leaving behind an indescribable fruity aftertaste with a barely detectable acid. A characteristic palette of sunflower honey colors is from golden yellow to almost mustard. Connoisseurs especially respect this honey variety for its unique aroma, which resembles flower pollen after rain, fresh hay, green tomatoes, mature apricots, and for someone even crisp potatoes fried in sunflower oil.

Real sunflower honey should be collected from flowering sunflowers and at the same time consist of at least 51 percent. Such honey perfectly reveals its peerless gastronomic qualities in a variety of baked goods. It can be safely added to cookies, white bread, air pies and cakes, as well as nougat. Sunflower honey is good not only for flour products - it often acts as a natural sweetener of hot drinks and a component in the composition of famous Greek desserts. A good combination forms in a duet with yogurt.

By the way, relatively recently, New York scientists conducted a number of studies, the purpose of which was to compare several types of natural honey. As it turned out, sunflower honey contains one of the richest sets of useful amino acids necessary for the human body to synthesize proteins.

In addition, the useful properties of sunflower honey are due to the presence of natural antioxidants, the healing qualities of which can be listed almost indefinitely. It is clear that these substances are also found in many other foods, but in sunflower honey their really significant amount.

Sunflower honey is raised another level up the scale of beneficial properties by natural enzymes. Moreover, some of them are so unique that they are not contained in other natural products.

Sunflower honey is especially useful for people suffering from atherosclerosis, osteoporosis, as well as neuralgia, in particular colds.
