Braids halvahs

Braids halvahs...

Halva is ranked among the traditional or national sweets of the countries of Central Asia. It is worth noting that all types of halva in the East are considered not only unusually tasty, but also a rather useful food product. By the way, the very name of the halva from Arabic can be translated as "sweetness. "

It is noteworthy that, by its culinary essence, halva is a type of dessert or oriental sweetness that can be made from nuts, seeds, sugar or its substitutes.

Today, many types of halva are known, among which sesame, sunflower, peanut and goat-halva are especially popular. The latter variant is one of the varieties of this oriental sweetness, which is made from whipped egg whites with the addition of a certain number of walnut kernels (halves or quarters).

Kos-halva composition

The finished braid is a hard sugar mass in the form of a seam or bar. Some compare kos-halva with soft sweets, which vaguely resemble a pastille, but a much denser structure. In addition to walnuts, spit halva may include other types of nuts (in particular pistachios), raisins or other types of dried fruits.

The name of this oriental sweetness can be decomposed into two words - Turkish koz, which means nut and Arabic halva, that is, halva. In addition to hard braid-halva, a soft variety is often found on sale, which is more pleasant in flavor and tactile sensations. However, the composition of the spit halva of both species is almost identical: sugar sand, molasses, egg whites, walnut kernels, soapy root solution and vanillin.

For the manufacture of soft braid halva, for example, whipped egg whites are combined with a soapy root solution and continue to beat with the addition of chilled sugar syrup. When a caramel-protein mass is formed from the listed products, prepared walnut kernels are introduced into it and the goat-halva is formed on round trays (pre-lubricated) in the form of rhombuses or bars.

Natural honey, molasses or other types of sweeteners can be added instead of granulated sugar as part of a home-made braid-halva. The calorie content of kos-halva depends on the composition of this product. But, the average calorie level of kos-halva is at a fairly high level and is about 37

9. 5 kcal, which are contained in 100 grams of this sweet product.

In fairness, it must be said that the likely harm of kos-halwa can be observed only in the event of excessive consumption of the product in unlimited quantities. It seems that it is not surprising and even logical that a hearty braid-halva can cause an increase in body weight with its systematic use in large quantities.
