Cake

Cake...

Cupcake is a well-known and rather old confection. The first recipe for cupcake was found in the cookbooks of Ancient Rome, which date back a hundred years. Noble Romans were known as foodies and aesthetes in all areas of life. Historical evidence of Roman feasts abounds with descriptions of gastronomic delights and dishes that were served to the imperial table. Unsurprisingly, many current European culinary masterpieces have ancient Roman roots. Cupcake from among such dishes.

Composition of cupcake

The cake, which was made in Rome, included only 4 ingredients - egg puree, raisins, pomegranate grains and nuts. The modern recipe for muffins, as well as the name of the confectionery, appeared during the Middle Ages. The muffin got its original name from the old French word kechel, which literally sounds like "fruit pie. " The appearance of cupcakes is also distinctive, a kind of cute and neat apiary, which is often sprinkled with icing sugar. However, initially the cupcake was baked with one large pie with fruits, nuts or candied fruits.

Usually, the cake contains the following ingredients: biscuit or yeast dough, raisins, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate and jam. In its composition and even appearance, the cupcake resembles a national Russian cake. The interesting thing is that Easter cakes are prepared exclusively for special and most important church holidays, and cupcake in Europe is the main attribute of Christmas dinner or wedding. The calorie content of the cake depends only on the composition of the product.

The average calorie content of a stuffless cupcake is 346 Kcal in 100 grams of confectionery. We think it is logical that the indicators of chocolate or nut cake will be significantly higher. Cupcakes have existed since the ancient period of the development of human society, culture and cooking.
