After all, it was the eastern gourmets who gave us Turkish onion, pastille, halva, marshmallows, candied fruits. By the way, the favorite ice cream treat also comes from the East.

In distant times, all oriental sweets were made by pharmacists and medicine doctors who tried to give a fabulous taste to not particularly tasty medicines. And today in the East, confectioners are highly respected, and the assortment of oriental sweets has at least two hundred items, among which chuck-chuck deserves special attention.

The eastern sweetness of chak-chak is a flour product with honey, which belongs to the cuisine of Turkic peoples, especially in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. So, chuck-chuck is rightfully considered the national Tatar and Bashkir food.

This dessert dish is commonly consumed with coffee or tea. The chuck chuck is served whole or cut into pieces. The calorie content of the chuck chuck is quite high and averages about 363 kcal, but the nutritional value of this product can vary depending on the ingredients used.

Chuck-chuck species

Among a considerable number of chuck-chuck species, it is customary to distinguish the main ones: Bukhara or Tajik Kalev, which has the form of vermicelli noodles. The Kazakh variety of chak-chak is similar to Bukhara and is called shek-shek. Another type of chuck-chuck - Bashkir and Tatar is prepared in the form of balls, however, in some areas of Tatarstan it is customary to cook it somewhat larger and more oblong than Kazan.

Composition of chuck chuck

As part of the chuck-chuck, the main component is soft dough, which is made from high-grade wheat flour and raw eggs. So, short thin sticks are formed from it, which in shape resemble a vermicelli, or balls, the size of which does not exceed the size of a pine nut. These pieces of dough are deep fried, after which they are poured with a hot mass based on natural honey.

The dish is laid out on a flat dish, giving sweet pieces the desired shape - most often in the form of a slide. Chuck-chuck is completely ready for use after solidification. By the way, sometimes before pouring honey, a variety of dried fruits are added to the mixture as part of the chuck-chuck.

The Benefits of Chuck Chuck

The benefits of chuck chuck for human health are due to the presence of natural honey, which in turn acts as an antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral agent. It is bee honey that is often used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, as well as cuts and burns.

In addition, the benefits of chuck-chuck are obvious for metabolic processes in the human body, as well as strengthening the immune system. However, it should be noted that due to the high calorie content of the chuck chuck, it is too often not worth pampering yourself with this treat.
