Plum puree

Plum puree...

Juicy, fragrant plums ripen in our gardens in late summer, when still full of other equally tasty and healthy fruits. However, berry lovers do not neglect this treat and try not only to properly prepare their bodies for the cold season, eating fresh fruits, but also make all kinds of blanks in order to enjoy the taste and aroma of plums even in winter.

One of these methods includes the preparation of plum puree, which contains a number of vital substances for the human body - vitamins and mineral salts. This product can be used in the future not only as an excellent sweet component in the preparation of a variety of desserts and baked goods for adults, but also to introduce your baby to it.

Plum puree is a great treat for a child who is just beginning to learn the world of culinary creations. This product should be introduced into the children's diet carefully, in small portions - no more than a quarter of a teaspoon for the first time. Due to the fact that plum puree has a fairly liquid consistency and has a rather sour taste, you should treat the child with it not in its pure form, but in the composition of multifructal products in a homogenized state.

The most popular combinations where plum puree is used are the following varieties of baby complementary foods: apple-plum, pear-plum, peach-plum and banana-plum puree. The light sourness of the plum favorably emphasizes the sweetness of other, sweeter fruits, thus complementing the extraordinary flavor range. In addition, it is often added to vegetable-based foods, where it comes with pumpkin, carrots or zucchini.

Plum puree is also useful for the baby in that it acts as a good natural remedy in case of intestinal problems, in particular, when the child is tormented by constipation for a long time. The opposite effect, by the way, is apple and banana puree, which normalize the work of the digestive system and, conversely, fix.

To prepare fresh plum puree, you don't need to cook berries at all - just scald them with boiling water, release them from the skin and bones, and then wipe the tender flesh through a sieve or grind with a blender. If the plums are very mature, you can use a regular fork. However, such a puree for long-term storage is not intended, since it deteriorates very quickly, so you should feed the baby immediately after the readiness of the product. For long-term use, plum puree is heat treated and sealed in sealed containers.
