Beet puree

Beet puree...

Beetroot is considered one of the most cultivated vegetable plants in our latitudes. In addition, beets are a popular ingredient in various dishes of the domestic culinary tradition. For example, we often cook red borscht, salads and other beet dishes. Besides, beetroot is used for production of vegetable vitamin juices and puree.

Beetroot mash has long been considered an excellent complementary food for children from the half of the year. The useful properties of beets have been discovered and studied for a long time, so it is not surprising that such a useful product has become widely used in cooking, as well as in baby food. We think that the main reason for the popularity of beet mashed vegetables lies not only in the taste and consumer qualities of the product.

Beet puree refers to healthy foods that contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals. For example, the composition of beet puree contains a record amount of vitamins of the V2, P and PP groups. Beetroot is second to garlic on the list of foods that are fortified with iron. Back in the 16th century, the famous physician Paracelsus used beets to treat diseases of the human circulatory system.

As a result of large-scale studies, scientists have revealed that regular consumption of beets helps to keep the human immune system normal, as well as remove heavy metals and harmful compounds from the human body. Children's doctors advise to introduce beet puree into the diet of infants from the age of six months. Beets differ in their useful properties, but often a mild allergic reaction may occur to a vegetable in a baby.

Therefore, doctors recommend starting feeding with one spoon of beet puree per day, gradually increasing the amount of food in the children's diet. Beet puree is considered a healthy and dietary food, because it contains the juice and pulp of a vegetable. Beetroot juice is considered an excellent means for normalizing digestive and metabolic processes.

In addition, beetroot puree has a positive effect in thyroid diseases. What is interesting is that both fresh or raw beets and a vegetable that has undergone heat treatment are extremely useful for the human body. This means that in beet puree vitamins, minerals and other biologically active substances are no less than in fresh vegetables.

Beet puree can be used not only for baby food. On the basis of beet puree, excellent cream soups are made, as well as other dishes (for example, risotto or vegetable stew). In order to prepare beet puree, you need to wrap the beet fruits in foil and put them in the oven for half an hour. Once the beetroot is tender, cut the vegetable into cubes, cover with water and set to cook over a medium heat. Once the beets have boiled, grind the vegetable to the consistency of the mash. Usually, other vegetables or fruits are added to the beet puree for children. This is done in order to soften the taste of the final product.
