Banana is rightfully high on the list of the most popular and frequently used fruit in our latitudes. Tropical areas of Southeast Asia and the Malay archipelago are considered the birthplace of the herbaceous banana plant. The banana family has about 40 species, which are mostly common in Asia and on islands washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. There are also ornamental banana plants that can be found on the Black Sea coast, in Georgia and in the Caucasus.

The fruits of the banana plant are considered tasty, healthy and nutritious fruits, which under the hour form the basis of the human diet. For example, every resident of Ecuador eats at least 74 kg of bananas annually. In addition to Ecuador, bananas are especially popular in the Philippines, Comoros, Samoa and Burundi. All banana fruits are divided into two main categories - edible and inedible. In turn, edible bananas are divided into dessert and plantain varieties, which differ in the method of preparation.

It is believed that dessert bananas can be eaten fresh or dried. Plantano or palantaine bananas require mandatory heat treatment before being eaten. Dessert bananas are familiar to everyone, because it is this variety that goes on sale in our latitudes. Sycamore bananas are a green-skinned fruit whose flesh is not distinguished by its sweetness of taste. Such a product is fried or boiled, as well as treated with steam.

Bananas have a number of useful properties, which are primarily due to the chemical composition of the product. The fruit contains a sufficient amount of vitamins of group B, PP, E, C, A. Bananas contain such minerals and active natural substances as fluorine, calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium and selenium. In addition, bananas are nutritious and well assimilable. Bananas have found widespread use in cooking. The fruit is used fresh, in salads and desserts, as a filling for confectionery and baking. Bananas are dried, fried, baked.

Banana puree or juice is made from fruit pulp. Banana puree is considered an excellent complementary food for infants. However, not only children like to feast on banana puree. You can pre-bake banana fruits with peel in the oven. Then peel the fruit, add milk and grind the fruit mass to the consistency of banana puree with a fork or using a blender.
