It is believed that real red Chianti wine can only be produced on the territory of strictly defined by the authorized state bodies of Italy. This rule was called Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita, which literally means "the name that is controlled by origin. "
It is believed that only in Tuscany and only those who have passed the strict selection of producers have the right to make red wine, which will then be sold under the brand name Chianti.
